From day-to-day responsibilities to challenging relationship issues, Emotional Wellbeing Solutions – your Employee Assistance Program (EAP) – is here to help.

Connect anytime online, via phone, or through the app for support with:

Additional benefits include:

  • Face-to-face counseling: You and your household members can also receive up to eight counseling visits, per issue, per calendar year at no cost. Visits can be in person or virtually with Amwell, Doctors on Demand, or Talkspace. View the 8 Visits Flyer for more information. If an issue extends beyond the limited visits, you and your family can access your UnitedHealthcare behavioral health benefits if eligible. Call before speaking with a counselor to obtain an authorization number.
  • Financial coaching from the experts: Financial issues can be daunting, but we can help you take greater control of your finances. With Emotional Wellbeing Solutions, you’ll receive up to 60 minutes of free consultation — provided in 30-minute increments — with an experienced, credentialed financial coach for each financial issue you have. You also have access to a wide range of legal and financial tools and resources. 
  • Legal counseling and mediation services: If you need legal assistance, you can tap a national network of more than 22,000 attorneys and 630 professional mediators to help meet your challenges. Take advantage of a free 30-minute telephonic or in-person consultation per issue with a state-specific attorney or qualified mediator. If you need additional assistance, ongoing services are provided at 25 percent below the firm’s current rates following your initial consultation.
  • WorkLife Services: Between work and all your other commitments, it can be tough to tackle everything on your to-do list — especially when surprises pop up. Your WorkLife services can make it less stressful by researching local services for you. They can include:
    • Personal services, including pet, travel, lawn care, and auto or home repairs
    • Child, family, and parenting support, such as childcare, adoption, infertility resources, and special needs care
    • Educational resources from preschools and recreation programs to college solutions and career counseling
    • Adult and eldercare support for topics including adult daycare, in-home/nursing care, dementia resources, and retirement planning.
    • Chronic illness support, including advocacy, caregiving resources, food services, transportation, and remodeling for accessibility

How to request an Authorization:

  1. Go to www.liveandworkwell.com, click on “Browse with Company Access Code,” and enter DEERE.
  2. You’ll be directed to a welcome page. Click “Get Care”.
  3. Scroll down to the banner to “Get your no-cost counseling visits” then click on the button that states “Sign in to start”.
  4. You must sign in using your HealthSafe ID. To do this, use the same username and password you use to access myuhc.com. If you do not have a HealthSafe ID, you can register using your Social Security number or the member ID from your UnitedHealthcare medical ID. Reminder: You do not need to be enrolled in Deere medical insurance to use Emotional Wellbeing Solutions.
  5. Once you have registered, you’ll be taken to the code authorization page. Review the instructions and click on “Request a Code”.
  6. Answer the questions to receive your code.
  7. Make sure you write down the code and provide it to your therapist when scheduling your first visit.

Emotional Wellbeing Solutions is confidential. Your health information and participation in the program is in compliance with applicable privacy laws and regulations.

Emotional Wellbeing Solutions is available to all U.S. salaried and production employees.

Connect virtually with a licensed, network therapist.

Engage with a licensed, dedicated therapist; anytime, anywhere with Talkspace. Send private messages (text or voice), or schedule live video sessions. Talkspace is a part of Emotional Wellbeing Solutions, which includes up to eight no-cost counseling visits, per issue, per calendar year.  

To use Talkspace, first you’ll need an authorization code which allows you to receive services at no additional cost to you. Go to Liveandworkwell.com and scroll down to “Sign in for code” or call
1-888-533-7311. Once you have an auth code, go to Talkspace and select the “Use my Employee Assistance Program (EAP)” option to get started.

Substance Use Treatment

Get help for substance use issues.

It can be hard to recognize signs of substance use. They can include, but are not limited to, frequent absences at work or school, a neglected appearance, changes in behavior, and physical health issues.

If you or a loved one is facing substance use challenges, such as excessive and/or compulsive use of alcohol or drugs, call the 24/7 Substance Use Treatment Hotline at 1-855-780-5955.

Advocates will offer confidential support and can help develop personalized recovery plans and treatment options. The call is free, and callers may remain anonymous.

Substance use guide for parents and caregivers

This guide is designed to help parents and caregivers. When it comes to substance use among children and teens, many questions may come to mind, including: “Is drinking just normal teenage experimentation?” “How can I get my child to talk about how they’re really feeling?”

It’s important to know that you don’t have to figure it out on your own. This guide provides resources to help parents and caregivers reach out to a child or teen. It’s never too soon to get the support you need.

National Suicide Prevention Lifeline

How — and where — to reach out if you’re in crisis.

As of 16 Jul 2022, 988 is the new three-digit dialing code you can use to connect to the existing National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. If you or a loved one need crisis support due to mental health-related distress, the National Suicide Prevention hotline offers access to compassionate, accessible care. Whether you’re dealing with thoughts of suicide, mental health or other emotional crises crisis, or any other kind of emotional distress, dial or text 988 to get the support you need.

  • Suicide Prevention: The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the United States.
  • Lifeline Chat: Lifeline Chat is a service of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (formerly known as the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline), connecting individuals with counselors for emotional support and other services via web chat.  
  • Global Suicide Prevention: The International Suicide Hotline website connects users with global suicide hotline contact information. 
  • Crisis Text Line: The Crisis Text Line allows users to simply Text “Home” to 741741 to connect to a Crisis Counselor. 
  • National Domestic Violence Hotline: 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, the National Domestic Violence Hotline provides essential tools and support to help survivors of domestic violence so they can live their lives free of abuse. 
  • Domestic Violence Information: Visit Medline Plus to learn more about domestic violence, types of abuse, warning signs, what to do if you are a victim and how to help someone who is a victim.

Critical Incident Response Services (CIRS)

  • Optum will provide support at the request of an HR/LR Manager to support employees during a challenging time or event.
  • Challenges can include isolated traumas such as natural disasters, workplace accidents, death and workplace change and more chronic stressors such as COVID, racial trauma, political stress and civil unrest.
  • Help employees cope with their stress responses and promote organizational resiliency through in person or virtual support
  • Led by mental health clinician with critical incident debrief expertise

Family Support Program

Guidance for your child’s wellbeing.

The Family Support Program is designed to shorten treatment time, simplify member experience, and improve clinical outcomes.

The Family Support Program can help with:

  • Attention-deficit and/or hyperactivity disorders
  • Autism spectrum disorder
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Eating disorder
  • Major depressive disorder
  • Psychotic disorder
  • Substance use 

Family Support Navigator assessment:

The Family Support Navigator is a powerful interactive online tool that helps parents and caregivers find the right care for children who may have autism or depression. The navigator assessment will help you:

  • Create a step-by-step action plan that’s personalized for you.
  • Get information about how to navigate the health care system.
  • Learn who to talk to, what to ask, and what to expect from the process.

What to expect when you call:

Based on your assessment results, the Family Support Program will help you locate and secure services available through Fidelity and external providers, which may include

  • Referrals to medical and/or behavioral health providers
  • Physical, occupational or speech therapy
  • Emotional Wellbeing Solutions
  • Condition-specific research
  • Financial resources such as Social Security Disability Insurance,
  • Medicare and Medicaid
  • Support groups and advocacy organizations
  • Specialized therapies* such as applied behavior analysis
  • Care groups
  • Services within your child’s school system
  • Local private schools, specialized tutoring or other programs dedicated to meeting unique behavioral health and learning needs
